AFREEX BIOGRAPHY  

Kelvin Avon (aka Afreex) grew up in Hong Kong and started his interest in music from the young age of 6, when he started playing the trumpet. He bought his first synthesizer and drum machine when he was 12 and he hasn't looked back since.

Trained at Massachusetts Communications College, Boston, USA as a Sound Engineer, Kelvin began his musical career as a Mastering Engineer in 1999 for Promo Only, a US based music promotions company.
After deciding to focus on his production skills, Afreex made his name working on an abundance of projects for artists such as P.Diddy, Erykah Badu, Nelly, Lumidee, and Mario to UK urban artists such as NDubz, Jamelia, Omar, Kele Le Roc, Shola Ama and many more. During this time he was also credited with an Urban Music Award for his ground breaking compilation Union Black.
Union Black was the UK's biggest collaboration CD featuring 40+ artists collaborating on over 25 exclusive tracks from Omar, to Rhian Benson, Cassius Henry, Swiss (So Solid), Don-E, Sway, Shola Ama, Baby Blue, J2K, Maxwell D, Sway, Kele Le Roc and many more and produced by Afreex and Kleiko
Broadening his scope to also include multi-media, Afreex recently placed original music in a Sony Playstation game and the Hollywood movie Nothing Like the Holidays.
Kelvin has also been Musical Director for hip hop theatre show 'BoxBeat' held at Sadlers Wells in London, and produced music for the renowned Swedish Hip Hop Dance Company, Bounce Streetdance Company. He was recently the Musical Director for Russian pop session, Sergey Lazarev's 2007/2008 live tour.
